Motor Show 2006 in Muscat welcomes all motoring enthusiasts

His Highness Sayyid Fatik bin Fahar bin Taimur Al Said, Secretary General of the Ministry of Heritage and Culture, yesterday cut the ceremonial ribbon to signal the opening of Motor Show 2006, which will run until September 23 at the Oman International Exhibition Centre in Muscat.

"Motor Show 2006 is now officially open to welcome visitors who are eager to check out the latest car models and the best auto parts and accessories now available in the local market," said C.J. Paul, general manager of Omanexpo LLC, the leading exhibition organiser in the sultanate.

The timings of the four-day exhibition are from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and then from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. On Friday, September 22, the exhibition will be open only in the evening, while the morning hours of Saturday, September 23, are reserved for ladies and families only. All visitors get a chance to win exciting prizes in the raffle draw by just going to the exhibition.

Motor Show 2006 features a large selection of globally known automotive brands from the sultanate's leading car dealers. Among these are Toyota, Lexus and Daihatsu from Saud Bahwan Automotive LLC, Citroen and Peugeot from European Motors, Ford from Arabian Car Marketing LLC, Kia from Reliable International Automotive, Mitsubishi from Zubair Automotive, and Suzuki from Moosa Abdul Rahman Hassan and Co. LLC.

The exhibition also presents Tata and Nissan diesel commercial vehicles from Al Hashar & Company, desert buggies, Yamaha motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles, Dadi and LMG vehicles from Lulu Motors, and semi-armoured vehicles from Engine Engineering Co. LLC. Chinese vehicles also take center stage with the participation of the Great Wall Motor Company as represented by Al Rumaila Motors, and China Motor Corporation and Jiangling Motors, both of which are represented in the sultanate by the Automotive Sales Division of MHD LLC.

Apart from the latest models of vehicles, Motor Show 2006 also showcases various auto parts and accessories as well as a wide range of services and attractive offers for motoring enthusiasts. These include car loans from HSBC Bank Middle East, which is the major sponsor of the event, and heat control films from V-Kool (Oman), which is the co-sponsor of Motor Show 2006.

Additional products and services featured in the exhibition include Continental Tires, upholstery services, aesthetic solutions for vehicles, auto insurance and financing, the XDS glass protection system, and entertainment systems from Kenwood, Autosonik and Fusion. A large number of publications are also displayed including Gulf Autos, Dallal Magazine, the Oman Economic Review, which is the media partner of Motor Show 2006, and Automan, the official magazine of Motor Show 2006.

Other Motor Show exhibitors include Al Ahlia Insurance, Bank Muscat, Car Seat Upholstery Co. LLC, Color Line LLC, Hazaar United Trading LLC, National Finance Company, the Royal Oman Police, Vinzi Desert Buggy LLC, and Zakher International LLC.
