DCCI discuss ways of enhancing trade relations with Australia

Abdulrahman G. Al Mutaiwee, the Director General of DCCI, discussed ways of enhancing the trade relations with Australia during a meeting with Dale Dickson, the CEO of the Gold Coast City Council.

Al Mutaiwee highlighted the importance of the trade relations between Dubai and Australia. He explained that Australia is considered a commercial destination for businessmen and investors, as well as a destination for tourists and students. Al Mutaiwee highlighted as well growth of the non oil bilateral trade between the two countries.

Dickson thanked DCCI for the cooperation with the Gold Coast City Council; he mentioned that the size of the relation between the two countries appears in the weekly flights between Dubai and Australia that have reached 49 flights a week. This number reflects the active movement of businessmen, tourists and cargo between the two countries.

Dickson also discussed the possibility of receiving commercial delegations from DCCI in order to demonstrate to them the commercial and economical abilities of Australia. As well as the facilities and the infrastructure offered by the government.

Al Mutaiwee highlighted the growth of the Australian business in Dubai; he said the number of the Australian companies reached 174 companies according to DCCI statistics. The director general expressed DCCI's readiness for cooperation with Australian side and looking at the possibility of sending a commercial delegation to Australia next year.
