Held at the Etisalat Academy campus in Dubai, the fourth and fifth batches in 2006 included 35 executives comprising of Human Resources department heads, senior managers and employee development specialists.
Dr. Doaa Fares, General Manager Etisalat Academy, said 'The Academy is always in the lead when it comes to showcasing the latest and most modern techniques of employee assessment and development, especially at the professional level. The programme fits in right beside the various training sessions, conferences, seminars, and workshops that the Academy offers, which are what makes the Academy unique as one of the largest training institutes in the region.'
The programme focuses on the application of the best modern techniques and approaches in employee testing and surveying, which in turn will help identify the right candidate for the job. The results from the tests and surveys will help the Human Resources department ensure right staffing.
The participants of the training programmes witnessed first hand the importance of applying employee assessment principles in staffing, career growth, and employee development. This, in turn, will lower financial expenses for government and private organizations that acquire this advanced expertise.
Mariam Mohamed, eCompetency Centre Manager, Etisalat Academy, said: 'The Centre, representing the SHL Group (UK), had organized 3 successful programmes in 2006, which were attended by 50 executive managers from the government sector in the UAE and from around the GCC. They were certified with international levels of expertise in employee assessment from 'The British Institute for Psychological Studies,' which is considered one of the most prominent organizations in this field.'
The sessions drew attendees from all over the GCC, from both government and private sectors. The programme included professionals from the banking sector, petroleum companies, Electricity and Water authorities, and the Authorities of Development. Included in the group were executives from the Ahli Saudi Arabian Trading bank, and Canar- Sudan's second fixed-line service provider.
