RTA delegation participates in the opening of the International Trade Fair for Transport Technology and Conference in Berlin

The activities of the International Trade fair For Technology and Conference (Inno Trans 2006) launched in the German capital, Berlin with the participation of more than 1300 companies specializing in the manufacture of the trains and public transport.
The conference discussed on the first day a number of topics that concerned the future of public transportation in European countries and the impact of the rail infrastructure with the future economic growth.
H.E Al Tayer met during the conference with H.E Volkma Shkok, Deputy Mayor of Berlin, and they discussed means of cooperation between RTA and Germany in transportation and public transport in general and in the field of railways and trains in particular.
öAl Tayer briefed the German official the overview of the RTA and vital projects being implemented and its future plans in Transport and its vision that focused on safe and smooth transport for all.
The delegation also hold a meeting with Mr. Hartmut Mehdorn, President of the Rail Agency in Germany and reviews the Dubai Metro project, which Executed by the RTA with the total cost nearly AED 15 billion and expected to be completed in September 2009.
Al Tayer noted that Dubai Metro based on the state-of-the-art technology in the techniques of trains, and includes conditioning system in stations and trains cope with the weather conditions of the urban Dubai and all trains will operate in accordance with the integrated electronic system that will allow for the strengthening of control and controlling the flight schedules carefully and the railway stations been designed in accordance with the method of innovative and distinctive architectural style and equipped with the latest techniques of safety and security and it also allocated special yards for the private and public vehicles and buses at each station.
He also presented an overview of the Dubai Metro Project, which works automatically without driver and provides safe and reliable services. He said also that the system allows the train running every 90 seconds and will ensure a protected doors to the stations in order to protect users and to provide adapt effectively to all parts of stations, whether these stations inside the tunnels or on the upper level, pointing out that special carriages allocated for women and first-class passengers and also information system will be provided as well as a sufficient number of seats in all vehicles and also windows will have a good overview of the metro areas surrounding the course.
He added that the total length of the green and red written about 70 kilometers, while the total number of stations reached 41 station, He pointed out that the length of the line and the number of stations may to increase in accordance with the plans and prospective studies and the length of the Red Line nearly 52 km, and have 28 station while the length of the Green Line amount to approximately 18 kilometers and includes 13 stations.
The number of trains about 69 trains and the Red Line includes 44 trains, and each train have five carriages with the total length of 85 meters per train while the Green Line consists of 25 trains, in each train three carriages with the total length of 51 meters for the train.
Mr. Hartmut Medhorn, President of the Rail Agency impressed by the giant project and development witnessed in Dubai in general and Dubai Metro project in particular, he emphasized his agency's readiness to cooperate and to provide their expertise and experience to RTA.
Mr. Al Tayer praised the (Inno Trans 2006) exhibition and conference that includes the state-of-the-art technology in the infrastructure of rail network and tunnels, the interior design of the trains and entertainment systems, in addition to public transport buses.
He stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between Dubai and the German Federal Republic in all fields. He called on all German companies specialized in railway industry and supporting services to participate in tenders for the maintenance of the Dubai Metro and other projects on related to metro.
