Al Tayer receives Ambassador of Sudan and Consul General of Japan

Obaid Humaid Al Tayer, Chairman of Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI), received an invitation to attend and participate in Al Khartoum Business Forum due to be held on November 8-9, 2006, during his meeting with Al Haj Al Faki Hashem, Ambassador of Sudan to the UAE, and Noor Al Huda Fateh Al Aleem Sayed Ahmed.

Also in attendance was Abdul Rahman Ghanem Al Mutaiweem, Director General of the DCCI.

The meeting discussed ways of developing the mutual commercial and economic relations. Al Tayer highlighted the importance of strengthening the relations with Sudan in all economical sectors especially in banking.

The chairman expressed the DCCI's readiness to support and provide the available facilities for the Sudanese businessmen and manufacturers.

The Sudanese Ambassador mentioned the importance of the UAE's participation in the forum. The Forum will highlight wide opportunities in the Sudanese economy such as agriculture, manufacturing, real estates, seaports, financial sector, communications, tourism, roads and transport.

On another hand, Al Tayer received Hiroyaso Kobayashi, Consul General of Japan in Dubai. The meeting discussed ways of enhancing and developing the commercial relations as Japan is considered one of the major trading partners with the UAE and Dubai.

The Consul General of Japan demonstrated the importance of establishing a Japanese Business Council. He mentioned that 40 companies from Japan are established in Dubai and about 100 companies are established in the Jebel Ali free Zone area.

Al Tayer explained that establishing a business council benefits the business communities in both countries and strengthens the trade relations.
