UPS appoints new Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa

UPS has appointed Mr. Vasilis Gatzoyannis as the Regional Director for UPS in the Middle East, North Africa and Malta.

Mr. Gatzoyannis replaces Mr. John Gould, who has moved into an operational role in the UK.

Mr. Gatzoyannis has held a variety of management roles during his ten-year career with UPS, starting as Country Manager for UPS Greece in 1996 before moving into the role of Regional Director for UPS in Greece, the Balkans and the Mediterranean from 2002 to 2005. Most recently, he took on an eight-month assignment as an instructor at UPS Corporate Schools, UPS's internal management training programme, based in Neuss, Germany.

Ěr. Gatzoyannis will concentrate his efforts on continuing the successful development and growth of UPS in the Middle East and North Africa, overseeing UPS's business in approximately 18 countries in the region.

Mr. Gatzoyannis holds a Mathematics degree from Athens University and an MBA from Chicago- Roosevelt University in the US. He will carry out his role based in Athens, Greece, where he currently resides with his family.
