RTA changes the driving training times and reorganizes the movement of heavy vehicles on Dubai roads in Ramadan

The Roads and Transport Authority( RTA) has announced that it has decided to change the training of drivers timing at the training schools and institutes to minimize the congestion.

The RTA has urged the training institutions to cooperate and adhere with the new procedures which are as follows; for light vehicles from Saturday until Thursday, from eight o'clock in morning until one o'clock in the afternoon, then from three until five o'clock in afternoon. While on Friday from seven o'clock morning until 11:00 am, and on public holidays from 07:00 am to 17:00 pm.

With regard to heavy vehicles, training times has been decided from Saturday until Thursday to start from 8:30 in the morning until one in the afternoon, and from 15:00 pm to 17:00 pm, .In Fridays, In the public holidays the training stars from 8:am until one p.m., and resumes from three o'clock in the afternoon until five o'clock.

As in the holy month of Ramadan, RTA has directed the training institutions regarding the training on light vehicles to be from nine thirty in the morning until one in the afternoon, and resumes from 2.30 afternoons until five o'clock. The same timing will be implemented for the heavy vehicles training during the month of Ramadan except for the beginning of training in the afternoon, which begins at 3:00 p.m. and continues until five pm.

RTA has banned the training of all categories of drivers on the main streets in the city of Dubai at all times, The ban includes the streets of Sheikh Zayed ,Sheikh Rashid and the Al Ittihad roads.

On the other hand, the RTA has announced the modification of trucks and heavy vehicles movement in Dubai during the holy month of Ramadan in order to alleviate traffic congestion which matches with the times of the morning and afternoon working times in the public and private sectors, which intersects also with the times of school.

According to the new procedures, the ban extends from 7:30 am up to 11:00pm and depends on the road is in which area.

She said that the restrictions of the new timing is strictly prohibits the movement of the heavy vehicles from 7: 30 am up to 9:30 am. On most of Dubai roads, while the afternoon timings will remain as it was before Ramadan from 01:00 pm up to 03:00 pm, with a change in the evening times starts from 05:30 pm up to 08:30 pm.

Eng. Maitha mentioned that RTA pays a great importance to the timing issue and has organized a publicity campaign since the beginning of Ramadan, through the local newspapers for several days to make aware the importance of this issue.

She explained that the decision to amend the times of the ban to prevent the passage of trucks in all main roads of the city of Dubai from 07:30 up to 11:00 pm as in Shaikh Zayed road, part of Shaikh Rashid road( from Za'abeel tanel upto Al Garhood Tannel) Al Ittihad road, and the down town roads.

CEO of Traffic Agency has called the drivers to stic to the procedures, for their safety and the safety of society in general, and called on all road users including the drivers of vehicles, particularly trucks to exercise caution when driving in crowded places, and not to ignore traffic regulations guidelines, as tough action will be taken against violators.
