ADNEC looks to catalyse expansion of Abu Dhabi's exhibition industry and support emirate's rapid development
- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, September 26 - 2006 at 14:48
- PRESS RELEASE
The Institute for International Research (IIR) Middle East has confirmed that it will launch its largest ever programme of new exhibitions and conferences in the UAE at Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company's (ADNEC's) new - state of the art - venue, across a range of sectors.
ADNEC recently announced IIR Middle East as one of the four Foundation partners, working jointly for the future success of Abu Dhabi's exhibition industry. Simon Horgan, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of ADNEC stated, "The scale of developments in Abu Dhabi is creating unprecedented demand for exhibitions across the full range of industry sectors, and IIR Middle East has identified a unique opportunity to become involved in such an exciting market. I am delighted that IIR, one of the world's leading exhibition organisers, has recognised the potential to put together such a strong combination of new exhibitions."
"ADNEC is taking a carefully considered expansion approach towards enhancing its standing as a partner of choice for exhibition organisers in the region. We are excited at the opportunities afforded by our new venue, and support from international organisers such as IIR helps us set the stage for rapid development of Abu Dhabi's exhibition sector,"
IIR Middle East will bring a superb range of exhibitions and conferences to ADNEC's event calendar over the next two years. Planning is already well underway for Cityscape Abu Dhabi - an exhibition and conference which focuses on all aspects of the property development cycle - to be held from 8 - 10 May, 2007. In addition to this, an extensive range of Healthcare events will also be staged by IIR Middle East at ADNEC's new centre. Details of other events will be announced in the near future.
Jessica Sutherland, General Manager of IIR Middle East, said, "IIR is looking to become a central player in the Abu Dhabi exhibition industry, and is rolling out an unprecedented programme of exhibitions and conferences which will expand on our existing position of strength in the emirate. We are looking forward to the opportunity of tapping into the enormous potential of Abu Dhabi as an exhibition destination and further diversifying our portfolio of events."
ADNEC's new venue was sanctioned by the Abu Dhabi Executive Council earlier this year. The exhibition complex will house 57,000 sqm of exhibition space, dedicated conference facilities for up to 1,200 people, banqueting areas and more than 30 well appointed meeting rooms.
