AD awards $1.6bn oil contract

Abu Dhabi has awarded a $1.6bn construction contract to Hyundai Heavy Industries to boost production at its offshore Umm Shaif oilfield, Reuters reported. Hyundai will build a fixed platform, undersea pipelines and bridges to replace an existing facility at the plant, which is expected to produce 1bn cubic feet of natural gas and 300,000 bpd of crude oil.
