Dubai road upgrade starts

Work on new roads, bridges and tunnels, which it is hoped will alleviate Dubai traffic, will start in October, after the awarding of mulit-million dollar contracts by the Roads and Traffic Authority. A bridge and tunnels at the first interchange on Sheikh Zayed Road will cost $168m; a floating bridge on Dubai Creek $31.3m; and roadwork at Al Sofouh, which has started, will cost $60m.
