Celebrating the 'old meets new' theme, the Ramadan tent is open for all from 7.30 pm to 1 am daily except Fridays, and offers a delectable food and beverage spread.

The Old Town presentation centre has vintage Arabesque features reflecting the architecture of the residential project within the 500-acre upscale development. The cafe recreates the ambience and offerings of the popular Al Bastakiah Café in Shindagah, Bur Dubai.

"The Ramadan tent at Bastakiah Old Town Cafe displays the skyline of Burj Dubai, the tallest tower in the world when completed in 2008," said Bahiya Kayed, Assistant Sales Director, Emaar Properties. "The tent will also have oud players and plasma screen televisions for added entertainment."

Visitors can appraise the true feel of the Old Town and Old Town Island projects at the presentation centre and feast on authentic Arab cuisine served by professional service staff. They can also choose from shisha in many flavours. The tent offers catering service too.

"From quick bites to lavish meals, we will offer the entire Bastakiah cafe platter here at affordable rates," said Saeed Al Mulla, owner of Bastakiah Cafe. "The association with The Old Town, which celebrates Arabian heritage, complements our Arabian theme perfectly."

The Old Town is a unique pedestrian-friendly residential offering that integrates inspirational Arabian architecture in a modern setting. Architectural cues are taken from traditional buildings, including those at the Al Bastakiah neighbourhood of Bur Dubai.

The Old Town Island comprises neighbourhoods of low-rise waterfront apartments, 35,000 square metres of retail in the style of a traditional souk, 8,000 square metres of boutique offices and a five-star hotel.

Ongoing projects within Downtown Burj Dubai include Burj Dubai, The Old Town Island, The Dubai Mall, The Lofts, Burj Views, South Ridge, Burj Dubai Boulevard, The Residences and 8 Boulevard Walk. The development will be self-sustaining with a 24-hour lifestyle and a buzz that percolates right through the residential, retail, business, entertainment, leisure and dining facilities.
