Dubai Modern High School celebrates 20 years of excellence

Dubai Modern High School celebrated its twentieth anniversary in a glittering ceremony that saw the inauguration of the Modern High Alumni Association.
The first head boy of Modern High, Mr. Walid Toufiq and the principal, Mr. Darryl Bloud, signed the Alumni Association Charter. The entire audience witnessed the charter, which was electronically signed while being projected on an electronic screen.
"Dubai Modern High School has a prestigious and proud heritage of producing some of the finest students in the past two decades," said Darryl Bloud. "The inauguration of the Alumni Association will help bridge those students together, and what better way to do that than on the 20th Anniversary of the school that nurtured and cultivated these students' creativity."
Over a hundred school and former pupils performed three songs from the musical 'Cats', directed by Mr. Kevin Oliver. A special anniversary issue of the school magazine, 'The Modernite' was released by Mr. Dino Varkey.
The chairman then declared open the thirteenth Creative Festival, 2006 which was celebrated the next day with twelve schools participating in eleven interschool competitions which included dance, music, mural painting, quiz, drama and many more.
