Norsk reviews smelter costs

Norway's Norsk Hydro is reviewing the cost of building an aluminium smelter in Qatar before it makes a final investment decision, Reuters reported. Norsk had entered into a 50-50 joint venture with Qatar Petroleum to build the smelter, which will have a capacity of 585,000 tonnes per year. It estimated that the project would cost $3bn.
