Women's Committee begin its activities with the visit of first Chief Executive Officer in the RTA

The Women Committee of the Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) began its activities with an official visit to the first Chief Executive Officer in the Authority Engineer Maitha Bin Adai, Chief Executive Officer of the Traffic and Roads Agency.

The committee was briefed by Engineer Maitha Bin Adai's. Engineer Maitha assured in her talk with the committee members on the importance of maintaining contact with the well-known women in leading positions across the country to follow them as an example to upgrade the functions of the committee and develop its events and activities.

Dr. Aisha AlBusmait, Director of Marketing and Corporate Communication Department and the Chairperson of the Women's Committee said that the visit from Engineer Maitha Bin Adai came to encourage committee members to work on a plan to encourage all women in the authority to follow her, while the committee would support the women's leadership role and influence in decision-making that can be reflected positively on the RTA's role in the interaction with all social and economic issues.

He added that the Women's Committee has a great role and will work to link them with the internal and external society of the authority through the participation of all women employees and the families of staff and to work with all women sectors and institutions across the country to strengthen and activate the womens positive role in the society.

Dr. AlBusmait stressed that: "We aim to refine the skills and capabilities available in the Authority and provide a positive environment through the strengthen of confidence, reliability and the interaction between all women staff to highlight women's leadership skills and fully support to upgrade them and we strive now to work efficiently through an studied action plan contains various social, cultural activities and sports events, such as lectures and official visits and others formal sessions, seminars and courses in various fields related to women's work and organize and prepare programs to activate women participation in different celebrations and events."

Khawla Mohammed Khalifa, Vice Chairperson of the Women's Committee said that some of the committee tasks are to establish channels of communication with local and global organizations and associations to exchange information and experiences with them and support RTA women, develop their professional, cultural and social development requirements as well as ensure good work environments to suit the aspirations of leadership in the development of women that contribute to achieving the RTA objectives and implement its strategic prospects and enhance the RTA position and image in the community through different women activities and participation and social and volunteering works executed by the Committee.
