Ajman, Sharjah rental controls

Ajman and Sharjah have taken steps to regulate rental increases, reported Gulf News. Ajman has imposed a 20% rent cap and blocked landlords from increasing rents for three years after the initial contract has been signed. Sharjah has set up a committee to study tenancy laws and devise ways of protecting the rights of tenants.
