The workshops are part of the Agency's broader strategy to develop and retain its most important resource, an empowered and skilled workforce.

So far, a total of 13 employees termed by the Agency as 'high potential' have participated in a 2-day Extraordinary Leader workshop, focused on moving from 'good' to 'great.' Prior to the workshop, employees filled in a 360-degree performance assessment on the 16 different competencies that make an extraordinary leader. In this type of assessment, the employee assesses him or herself, and is then assessed by peers and managers. Thanks to an online action plan mapping system, those employees will be able to track their own performance for a whole year.

Moreover, the Agency's management and team leaders have also undergone training and participated in a Breakthrough to Peak Performance workshop. This 1-day intensive workshop focused on teaching employees strategies to remain motivated in the face of challenges. It also trained employees how to move from 'motive' to action. Additionally, during a very interactive part of the workshop and by using the technique of juggling as a metaphor, participants learnt about the critical success factors for learning new skills and improving performance. The same type of workshops will be organized 3 more times during the remainder of the year for the rest of the Agency's employees.

Another workshop on Change Management will be held on December 14, 2006 for the Agency's management, team leaders and 'high potential' employees. It aims to equip them to play a leadership role and develop a range of strategies for overcoming resistance to change.

Overall, during these workshops, employees will have the opportunity to learn how to distinguish their own peak performance strategies, discover how to reproduce their best days in a consistent manner, overcome obstacles and boost team success.
