GOIC conducts a program on the development of innovation and knowledge-based SMEs

This program will be held between 11 and 15 November, 2006 in Doha, in cooperation with Carnegie Mellon University; a pioneering in the field of youth rehabilitation worldwide; and the distinctive sponsorship of Qatar Petroleum and Qatar Energy City.

The training program aims at the rehabilitation of entrepreneurs to initiate modern projects which are based on innovation and invention in vital and important fields by means of stimulating participants to think in a pioneering manner, find ideas, decide opportunities, diagnose competitive advantages and other steps required for developing the project; and most importantly introducing new technologies to the labor market. The training course will be in the form of interactive lectures, implementing concepts through workgroups, case studies, standard comparison, research in creativity and entrepreneurship, technology transfer, and training participants on preparing and presenting projects.

It is expected that this training program attracts entrepreneurs who are to start implementing their special projects in important fields such as Information Technology, Electronics, Biotechnology and other projects which are based on distinctiveness and innovation. The program also targets the ventures' developers in large establishments as well as the concerned people in SMEs in the ministries and authorities of industry and chambers of commerce, industrial and commercial banks, universities, research centers, technology parks, industrial and technology cities in the GCC member states.
