- PRESS RELEASE
Dubai Aluminium Company DUBAL, one of the largest producers of premium quality aluminium in the world, has been recertified to ISO/TS 16949:2002 specifications, marking another step forward in its continuous quest for excellence.
This achievement also falls in line with the DUBAL's strategic initiative to maintain the highest standards of excellence as approved by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister for Finance and Industry and Chairman of DUBAL.
A stringent 10 man-day audit process of the related departments was conducted by the Lloyds Quality Assurance. The ISO/TS certification is specifically designed and is mandatory for the suppliers to the automotive manufacturers.
"Even though this is not mandatory for DUBAL, the aluminium giant has been driven by its desire to continually improve its processes. The ISO/TS certification has resulted in innumerable improvements for DUBAL, as a result also benefiting its customers and suppliers alike," said Mr. Khalid Buhumaid, General Manager, Corporate Relations & International Affairs, Dubal.
DUBAL was originally certified to the ISO/TS in 2003. Several of DUBAL's processes were streamlined and further enhanced as a result of this certification. The ISO/TS ensures that the processes are not only effective but efficient as well. DUBAL has also put in place lots of measures using the latest technology to ensure that the processes are lean and efficient.
"DUBAL will never be the one to sit on its laurels. We will continuously strive to exceed in quality of products and services in the future," Mr. Buhumaid remarked.
