RTA signs agreement with Hertz company for car rental

Mr. Abdallah Al Madani, Chief Executive Officer of Corporate Support Services Agency said that the signing of this agreement with this international company to provide about 150 vehicles, including light and four-wheel-drive came in line with the framework of the outsourcing policy, which implemented by the authority, dealt with a number of activities and services in order to reduce the cost.

He added these vehicles been provided for from the middle of August to be used on a daily basis by a number of staff who have work requiring exit to the various work areas outside the offices like inspectors, engineers and public relations representatives and others.

Mr. Hammad Abdullah Bin Hammad, Manager of Administration Affairs and Public Services in RTA said that according to this agreement, the company will be responsible for all business related to car registration and renewal and periodic maintenance of these vehicles and follow the legal aspects of such violations.

Bin Hammad added: "We have signed this contract in cooperation with different parts in the Authority, including the Strategic & Corporate Governance Agency and the Contracts and Procurement Department and we thank them for their efforts to contribute in upgrading the level of presented services in the Authority.
Pointing out that the company had made a special offer for all RTA staff providing them with special rates and discounts for car rent."

Mr. Robert Farrow, General Manager of Hertz said that the signing of this agreement was the result of a number of constructive talks and having identified a number of key points to work together to achieve the overall objectives to improve the quality of Hertz car rental services in the world throughout and the Middle East, and increasing our share in the regional market.

Mr. Farrow added: "We have committed ourselves to providing the best and most innovative car rental services in the Middle East and the expansion of our operations in the region included the prompt opening of more branches of Hertz and strengthening our cars fleet with new models and a variety of new options and providing the best service at highest levels.

Hertz UAE manages ten branches in Dubai, three branches in Abu Dhabi, two in Sharjah and a branch in Ras al-Khaimah.
