Ramadan Fair opens at Expo Centre Sharjah

The 24-day Ramadan Fair, a multi-product consumer show, was inaugurated yesterday at Expo Centre Sharjah by Mr. Ahmed Mohammed Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI).
The Fair, a part of the Sharjah Ramadan Festival, has been jointly organised by Expo Centre Sharjah and the SCCI.
"The Fair is a celebration of the festive spirit of Ramadan," said Mr. Saif Al Midfa, Director General of Expo Centre Sharjah, after the opening ceremony.
"The Fair besides showcasing a wide array of consumer goods and services, also features several entertainment events, especially for children," he added.
This year's Ramadan Fair is hosting over 250 exhibitors from India, Pakistan, Lebanon, China and the UAE. Among the products that are being displayed at the Fair include a wide range of lifestyle products like gifts and novelties, textile and garments, perfumes and cosmetics, stationery,fashion jewellery, Islamic products, food products, gold and diamond jewellery, leather garments and shoes, home electronics and household products, toys, and furniture, among other items.
Besides being a shopper's paradise, the coming edition of the Ramadan Fair also features several other attractions including raffle draws for all visitors, a dedicated hall for joy rides and games for children, and traditional village set-ups projecting local cultures and traditions.
The traditional village set-up will reflect the lifestyle of the local population and their ancestors including their food habits and occupations.
The dedicated health check up facility set up by the Ministry of Health is expected to attract significant number of visitors. The facility offers a range of services including blood pressure and diabetes testing, oral health check ups, and advice on how to quit smoking among others.
"The Ramadan Fair is a complete familiy entertainment event," said Mr. Saif Al Midfa.
"The availability of such a wide range of consumer products on a single platform and the accompanying recreational events has made the Ramadan Fair an extremely popular event in the UAE," he added.
The Ramadan Fair will be open till October 24, from 8 pm until midnight, during the Ramadan period, and from 4.30 pm to 11 pm during Eid holidays.
