As part of its strategy to promote artistic development in the region and establish Dubai as a hub for cultural excellence, Dubai Properties has launched a line up of creative initiatives.

In its endeavour to motivate national talent, the Dubai based master developer provided international exposure to a diverse range of Hala Kazim's work during its three-month promotional campaign at Harrods, the prestigious London department store.

Hala's creativity is expressed in pure silk carpets, framed carpentry and collage masterpieces. Known for her inclination towards Oriental and traditional UAE art, Hala embellishes handmade carpets made by skilled weavers in the Qum region of Iran with a variety of precious stones to create unique home decorations.

Mohamed Binbrek, COO of Dubai Properties said: "Dubai Properties is committed to furthering the UAE's cultural advancement and we are looking forward in introducing these creative initiatives at Culture Village upon completion. Our initiative is in line with our corporate social responsibility towards local artists, cultural events and the fine arts. We specifically support high-quality projects that combine innovation with a sense of cultural pride and heritage."

An artist of regional repute, Hala, a UAE national is a member of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders.

Hala's work is presently displayed in the gift section of Harrods department store, the third most visited tourist attraction in the UK.

Hala Kazim said: "Dubai Properties' commitment to the support of local art and artists is part of the company's corporate social program. Through their projects and initiatives, locally and internationally, the company has played an important role in the promotion of traditional crafts. Their understanding of consumer trends and needs has assisted me in getting my work internationally recognised."

Dubai Properties is also supporting and sponsoring the HH Sheikha Manal Young Artist Award "New Signature" contest that aims to cultivate the creativity and contribution of young UAE artists to the society and further involve the local artistic arena
