BBK taps local talent for annual Management Trainee Development Program

BBK has recruited fifteen young talented Bahrainis for its 9-month long Management Trainee Development Program (MTDP).

The trainees, who started their program on the 3rd of September 2006, will follow an intensive training agenda during the course of the program aimed at their all round development and preparing them for a promising career in banking.

BBK senior management was involved in the rigorous screening process to select the candidates, who are recent graduates of universities from Bahrain and abroad.

The program will include three months of institutional training in banking and management and other 'soft skill development' areas. This will then be followed by ten days of specific training about BBK, before the trainees embark upon the main element of the program, which is six months of on-the-job training in different areas of the Bank.

Following the conclusion of the program, trainees will be assessed to determine their suitability for permanent employment at the Bank. Moreover, the Bank will especially monitor the growth, development and career progression of the trainees who are recruited as BBK employees.

BBK launched the MDTP in 2004 in recognition of the substantial talent amongst young Bahrainis and with the objective of tapping and grooming young talented nationals to meet the strategic manpower needs of BBK as also add to the professional talent pool in the Kingdom's banking and finance sector.

Mr. Hassaan Burshaid, Senior Manager, HR, said, "The MTDP has proved to be a highly rewarding investment in human capital for the Bank, as the program's graduates are adding significant value to our organization, as well as to the industry."

"The trainees also benefit because they get an opportunity to enhance their knowledge and skills, to acquire a deeper understanding of banking and management and to actualize their individual aspirations by embarking upon a promising professional career soon after completion of their academic years."
