The MoU was signed by His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Dr. Vittorio Paravia, SDOA President, in the presence of Dr. Tayeb Kamali, Vice Chancellor of the Higher Colleges of Technology, Dr. Alessandro Paravia and Dr. Benedetta Paravia, Intercultural Project Coordinators.

Dr. Vittorio Paravia thanked His Highness Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan for his ongoing support to the SDOA Intercultural Project.

"This MoU will further strengthen the existing relationship SDOA has with the Higher Colleges of Technology in the UAE. At SDOA, we have the Intercultural Project under which we establish joint initiatives with Arab and Euro-Mediterranean countries to enhance knowledge," said Dr. Paravia.

"Last year, SDOA started offering its Intercultural Balance Course to UAE students. Encouraged by the response, we accepted UAE students for the Entrepreneurship in Tourism and Communication Course.

"Seeing the growing interest, HCT and SDOA decided to formalise our relationship in the form of this MoU, which aims to develop leadership and entrepreneurial skills among the students. We want to help the HCT groom and develop its young talent for future leadership positions," Dr. Paravia added.

The MoU also calls for the implementation of graduate programmes such as SDOA's Masters Degrees in Business Administration, International Tourism Management and Logistics and Transportation.

Under the SDOA-HCT MoU, students are able to use credit hours earned with the Italian institution towards courses done at the HCT.

The SDOA courses being offered are: ItalArt, Entrepreneurship, Inter-Cultural Balance, Business and Political Leadership and Entrepreneurship in Tourism and Communication. The new courses introduced include Education for Educators and ICT Net, Web and Ethics.

The MoU allows for the establishment of a Planning Board that includes Dr. Vittrio Paravia, SDOA President and Dr. Tayeb Kamali, HCT Vice Chancellor. The role of the Planning Board is to ensure the coordination and effective implementation of the MoU.
