Integrating ICT skills in teaching & learning

Improving the learning environment and the quality of education is of top priority for the British Council and they have, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, initiated the 'Integrating ICT Skills in Teaching and Learning' project.

Nowadays, if you don't know how to use a computer you are considered illiterate. So what if you are an important part of the education system? The you need to know how to integrate Information Communication Technology (ICT) skills in teaching and learning.

The project will train teachers in the use of technology as a way to increase the quality of learning in their classrooms.

Zainab Baqer, Project Manager said
"The British Council's ICT in Schools project aims to improve the quality of education at school level by exchanging information and experiences through participating in Global Gateway's innovative programs. This will help both British and Bahraini teachers to better understand cultural differences by discussing ideas in an open environment while they are working together by all available means including visits, websites and e-learning."

The programme consists of three workshops and each workshop will be three-days long. By the end of the programme teachers should be able to integrate ICT in their classes and use the technology to enhance learning and teaching at classroom level.
