McAfee, Inc. named a leader in client security suites by independent research firm

According to the report, McAfee® received top scores for its current offering, strategy, administration and management. On a scale of 0 to 5 (strong), McAfee earned a '5' for its host intrusion detection system.

The report evaluated and positioned eight vendors that offer client security suites, which McAfee defines as protective technologies in a bundled or integrated package that include antivirus software, antispyware software, personal firewalls, host intrusion prevention (IPS) and network access control.

According to the Forrester Wave report, McAfee is best suited for companies that require comprehensive solutions. 'As the leading client security suite in our evaluation, McAfee's Total Protection for Enterprise Advanced is a comprehensive solution that gives customers the option of antivirus, antispyware, personal firewall, host intrusion prevention, email antivirus and antispam, and network access control functionality,' writes Natalie Lambert, research analyst at Forrester.

'Furthermore, Forrester expects McAfee to keep its lead in this market with its strategy of delivering a broader risk management solution, including technologies such as policy, threat and patch management.'
