Dubai Financial Market launches public listed companies guide

Dubai Financial Market (DFM) today launched 'Companies Guide 2005', the first ever guide of companies listed on DFM.

The Companies Guide 2005 will be available on DFM's website.

The first edition of the guide was launched by Essa Kazim, Director General of DFM and the first copy was dedicated to HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the visionary and motivating force behind the formation and success of DFM.

The guide comprises comprehensive details of 34 listed companies in five sectors; banking, industry, insurance, investment and services. It includes contact details of companies, date of incorporation, auditors, legal advisors, board of directors, ownership ratio, ownership structure and number of shareholders.

The guide also contains the past three years' financial results of each of the listed companies including trading information such as face value of share, closing price, number of shares traded, value of shares traded, market capitalization, amongst others. In addition to that, the guide shows the capital and shareholders' equity of each company during the past three years, assets and liabilities, profitability, cash flow, and other financial ratios.

Essa Kazim, Director General of DFM, said: "As the exchange grows with more listings, it is imperative to have a guide that can give a detailed and unbiased view of all the listed companies. I am delighted to announce the launch of the guide which will provide the investment community with a very useful data source."

The 91 pages guide, which is published in Arabic and English, will be updated annually.
