The first edition of the guide was launched by Essa Kazim, Director General of DFM and the first copy was dedicated to HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the visionary and motivating force behind the formation and success of DFM.

The guide comprises comprehensive details of 34 listed companies in five sectors; banking, industry, insurance, investment and services. It includes contact details of companies, date of incorporation, auditors, legal advisors, board of directors, ownership ratio, ownership structure and number of shareholders.

The guide also contains the past three years' financial results of each of the listed companies including trading information such as face value of share, closing price, number of shares traded, value of shares traded, market capitalization, amongst others. In addition to that, the guide shows the capital and shareholders' equity of each company during the past three years, assets and liabilities, profitability, cash flow, and other financial ratios.

Essa Kazim, Director General of DFM, said: 'As the exchange grows with more listings, it is imperative to have a guide that can give a detailed and unbiased view of all the listed companies. I am delighted to announce the launch of the guide which will provide the investment community with a very useful data source.'

Kazim said:

'The guide comes in line with DFM's commitment to establish a transparent market and spread awareness about the market as well as the issuers. DFM has focused on developing infrastructure and services to provide the highest levels of customer satisfaction. The market will continue to present equal opportunities to all investors; improve the speed of internal processes, offer flexibility and accuracy while assuring the highest level of transparency and disclosure that match international standards.'

The 91 pages guide, which is published in Arabic and English, will be updated annually.
