This increase from the 11 pavilions that participated at ADIPEC 2004 follows the establishment of ADIPEC as one of the world's premier events for the global oil and gas industry.
'In the UAE alone there are more than US $18 Billion worth of onshore and offshore governmental projects available for qualified companies. Decision makers from many oil producing countries in the region will attend ADIPEC and this represents a great opportunity for the local and regional market to evaluate the best of what Italy has to offer the oil and gas sector,' said Dr. Ferdinando Fiore, the Italian Trade Commissioner in the UAE,
Stating that Italian producers were specially eyeing Abu Dhabi where ADNOC is offering huge contracts, Dr. Fiore said: 'Most of these contracts are long term projects and Italian companies, backed up by the Italian Trade Commission, will work hard to secure some of these projects and showcase to visitors the quality of Italian products and services in this sector.'
'With Abu Dhabi looking to increase its oil production and also looking into the conversion of sour gas, the potential is immense and presents huge opportunities. Across the region countries are investing heavily in the industry and ADIPEC allows the many stakeholders to gather and examine the products on offer,' said Gordon Brown, Head of Commercial Section at the British Embassy in Abu Dhabi.
Noting the rapidly increasing representation by Canadian companies at ADIPEC, John Rodney, Trade Commissioner at the Embassy of Canada in Abu Dhabi said, 'Canada's participation at ADIPEC demonstrates the growing interest and commitment from the Canadian Oil and Gas sector to expand the commercial relationship between Canada and the United Arab Emirates in the future.'
Besides the above countries, national pavilions from China, India, Spain, Russia, Germany, the US, Turkey, Iran and France will participate. Further, pavilions from Denmark, Netherlands, and Austria are making their debut at this year's show.
ADIPEC 2006 will be held at the Abu Dhabi International Exhibition Centre (ADIEC) under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE. The event is organized by dmg world media.
'We are pleased with the impressive growth of ADIPEC. National pavilions which participated previously have enhanced their exhibit area. We also have 3 new pavilions at this edition. Participants recognize that ADIPEC provides an unmatched business generation and industry networking platform for the global oil and gas industry,' said Ashok Pillai, the project manager of ADIPEC 2006.
Over a thousand leading oil and gas companies, from more than 50 countries have confirmed their participation at the event which will also receive participation from energy ministers from the Middle East, as well as senior executives from the global oil and gas industry.
This year's event builds on the success of the previous edition held in 2004 which featured 1,209 companies, from 54 countries, occupying a total gross exhibit area of 30,000 square metres. ADIPEC 2004 was attended by several high-profile visitors including oil ministers from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Yemen and Pakistan.
In parallel with the exhibition, ADIPEC 2006 will also feature a prestigious conference track with 'Meeting the increasing global demand through innovation' as the theme. The conference is expected to feature presentations from industry experts covering a variety of areas including exploration and production, refining and distribution. Speakers will also debate the manner in which high technology is permeating into the Middle East and boosting the oil and gas sector.
The Executive Plenary Sessions at the conference will feature leading oil industry veterans from both national and international oil and gas companies who will share their thoughts and vision of the future.
