- PRESS RELEASE
Jordan Investment Trust P.L.C (Jordinvest) in cooperation with imcan for Brokerage and Trading are joining forces for the second consecutive year to host what is considered one of the major campaigns to battle hunger in Jordan during the Holy Month of Ramadan by way of daily Charity Iftar Meals (Mawa'ed Al-Rahman).
Through this joint initiative, Iftar meals are being served throughout the Holy month of Ramadan to more than 300 people a day. These meals are to be served in a Ramadan tent located at the Saha Al-Hashimiyah area in downtown Amman. Jordinvest and imcan opted to position this initiative in the same area they did last year because they realize that this particular venue is one that is accessible to all members of the community, and this in turn ensures that meals will in fact be within the easy reach of those people in need.
Commenting on this, Mr. Ahmad Tantash, Chairman/CEO of Jordinvest and Chairman of imcan, said, "We, at Jordinvest and imcan, are firm believers in responding to the needs and interests of our community as a whole. Our work isn't only about adhering to the demands of the financial sector, but rather it is also about serving the communities we operate within on a humanitarian level.
We have launched this initiative again this year in an effort to foster bonding among Jordanians. And as we are an integral part of this community, the Holy month of Ramadan is the time for us to give back to the society and offer our undivided support and understanding to its members."
Mr. Tantash added, "We are planning to repeat such initiatives every year and for many years to come and we are proud to be Jordanian entities that promote and advocate good corporate citizenship. We feel it should be an act carried out by all private and public organizations not only in Ramadan, but throughout the year. Such activities help in raising people's moral, ensure that they feel attended to in Ramadan, which brings about more development."
