Travco awarded Best Travel Group for the 10th consecutive year

In the celebration of the annual World Tourism Day on September 27th, H.E. Minister of Tourism Mr. Zoheir Garannah presented Travco Group with awards in recognition of its leading role in facilitating and encouraging tourism in Egypt.

This year marks the 10th consecutive year for the tourism tycoon to win 1st prize as the best Egyptian travel company in handling the largest number of inbound tourists amounting to 620,000 thus generating the largest tourism revenue to the country. The award was presented to Travco Group Chairman and CEO, Hamed El Chiaty.

El Chiaty was also presented with an achievement award for his leading and significant role in developing tourism in Egypt as was evident by the new tourism destinations he continuously explores and introduces to world tourism map like Madinat Makadi, South of Hurghada and Madinat Coraya in Marsa Alam and the latest venture Almaza Bay Resort in the North Coast in addition to Mirabel Resort in Nabq Bay, Sharm El Sheikh.

Another subsidiary company of Travco, Touring International received an award for being sixth best company in attracting inbound tourists with arrivals reaching to 215,000 pax and 485,000 tourist nights. Mr. Ihab Wanas, the company general manager, received the award. Alpitour Group Egypt, a third subsidiary of Travco and represented by Khaled Youssry, Alpitour Group Egypt department manager, was awarded the second place for its excellence amongst travel agents with less than 5 years of existence in the Egyptian market and the ninth place, in general, for handling inbound tourist nights amounting to 420,000. Among the awarded subsidiaries of Travco Group was Egyptotel for its property Iberotel Luxor for being the best hotel in the four-star category. The hotel general manager, Ibrahim Dorgham, received the award from Egypt's Minister of Tourism.
