The increase in workforce alone has seen more than 1,300 employees join Etihad's Abu Dhabi operations since September 2005, leading to an overall world-wide team of 3,400 employees from 95 nationalities.
"Etihad is expanding at an unprecedented rate, which means that there is a huge demand on the human resources department and large-scale recruitment, said Peter Carrie-Wilson, assistant vice president human resources, Etihad Airways.
"The new website will ensure that candidates can give us as much information as possible, and also enhances our efficiency in processing each and every application."
The e-hire careers website is available via the main Etihad website - www.etihadairways.com - and will enhance Etihad's ambitions of reaching potential candidates across the globe.
Currently there are nearly 340,000 applicants in Etihad's recruitment system, demonstrating the wide-spread popularity of the airline both in the Middle East and around the world.
Many of the career opportunities are based outside the UAE, in Etihad's destination markets, including Thailand, Pakistan and South Africa.
As well as catering for Etihad's current markets, the e-hire careers website contains details of careers in new Etihad destinations such as Shanghai, Tehran and New York.
Through the new Etihad e-hire careers website, candidates can create their own personal account which they can regularly update at their convenience and upload additional documents such as their résumé or academic certificates.
"Candidates will now find it easier to navigate throughout the site with easy-to-understand help index available at each and every moment. They can also browse through all the vacancies available using the 'current vacancies' tab, or find a suitable particular job by refining the search," concluded Carrie-Wilson.
There are two distinct elements to the new website, catering for external and internal applicants. Phase one which is now in full operation provides external applicants with the wide-range of added value features when applying for jobs.
Phase two relates to current Etihad employees and will come online via the airline's intranet affording a host of new services and benefits to internal Etihad candidates.
