Saudi railway moves ahead

Saudi's finance minister signed contracts worth more than $480m with local firms to prepare the ground for the North-South Railway project, Arab News reported. The railway will link Al-Jalamid and Al-Zubairah in the north to the industrial city of Jubail in the east via 2,500km of track. It is expected to give a boost to the kingdom's mineral industry, an official statement said.
