QGTC realizes another remarkable achievement

In another high profile deal, Qatar Gas Transport Company Ltd. (NAKILAT) has been awarded by Qatar Petroleum a 22-year service contract for Harbour Towages and Mooring Services for Ras Laffan Port.

The value of this contract is in excess of Qatari Riyals 1.5 billion.

In addition, Qatar Gas Transport Company Ltd. (NAKILAT) announced today the signature of a joint venture agreement with Svitzer Middle East Limited (a member of the A.P. Mĝller group of Denmark). The joint venture will provide the harbour towages and mooring services for Ras Laffan Port under the above long term service contract with Qatar Petroleum..

According to Muhammad Ghannam, QGTC Managing Director, this is another key milestone that QGTC has managed to achieve within a short period of time. With this contract QGTC will become one of the leading companies providing harbour towage and mooring services in Qatar. He added "QGTC will continue to seek excellent business opportunities to enhance returns to our shareholders".

About Qatar Gas Transport Company Ltd.:

QGTC was formed in June 2004 and is a joint stock company owned 50% by its founding shareholders and 50% by the public as a result of an IPO issued early 2005. It is publicly traded on the Doha Securities Market (DSM).

QGTC's primary business is the ownership of LNG carriers to service Qatar LNG projects. It has 16 LNG carriers on order from Korean yards, of which it will be the sole owner. Additionally, QGTC owns, via joint ventures, 30-60% in another 28 LNG carriers delivered or on order.
In addition to owning LNG tankers, QGTC is involved in a number of other marine related ventures in the State of Qatar. These include:

• the design, building and operation of a state of the art ship repair yard (dry-dock facility) in Ras Laffan that is expected to be operational by end 2009;

• ownership of vessels to transport the associated products of LPG, sulphur and condensate produced by Qatar gas projects;

• Nakilat Agency Company, which is the exclusive agent for all ships calling at the port of Ras Laffan owning and operating tug boats, pilot boats and other harbour craft in the port of Ras Laffan; and

• Nakilat Fuji, which is a ship chandlery business providing food, provisions and stores to vessels calling at Qatari ports, and warehousing services essentially for LNG vessel spare parts in Ras Laffan.
