Harvard Medical School Dubai Center accredits the 1ST Annual International Infectious Diseases Congress

Dubai will host the First Annual International Infectious Diseases Congress on the 1st and 2nd of November 2006 at Crowne Plaza Hotel, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum - Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance & Industry, President of the Department of Health and Medical Services.

The Harvard Medical School Dubai Center, The Department of Health & Medical Services - DOHMS, Health Management and Index Conferences & Exhibitions Organisation Est. have collaborated to organise the Continuing Medical Education course which is designed to provide the latest information for the practicing physicians on the diagnosis and management of major infectious disease problems.

The course provides a comprehensive and detailed synthesis of major research and latest progress in various areas of the Clinical Infectious Diseases such as: The community-acquired infections in the Gulf region, antimicrobial resistant pathogens, vaccinations, gastrointestinal infections, viral hepatitis, HIV, tuberculosis, tropical medicine, as well as new infectious diseases.

Leaders in Infectious Diseases will lecture and interact with the congress participants who will have the privilege of learning the state-of-the-art updates in the vast research area of infectious diseases through lectures, case discussions and breakout sessions and shall acquire 11.5 Continuing Medical Education (CME) points.

Accredited by Harvard Medical School Dubai Center, the course will be delivered by its prominent members Abdullah Mahmood Ustadi, M.D., Conference Chairman and Stephen Calderwood, M.D., Course Director, as well as a team from Harvard Faculty comprised from Edwards T. Ryan, M.D. and David C. Hooper, M.D. shall be enriching the course with the outcome of their in-depth research on Infectious Diseases.

The Conference Chairman and Course Director extend their invitation to primary health care physicians, general practitioners, paediatricians, obstetricians, gynaecologists, dermatologists, urologists, nephrologists, surgeons, internists, infectious diseases consultants and specialists, nurses, pharmacists, Laboratory and Radiology technologists to attend this important course that shall be held for the first time in Dubai by such prominent researchers from Harvard Medical School.
