- PRESS RELEASE
The Westminster School, a GEMS School, was granted the Cambridge International Fellowship Centre (CIFC) status, a prestigious honour bestowed upon only a handful of schools worldwide.
The CIFC status is awarded to an educational institution that has shown exemplary practice in the conduct of examinations, quality of teaching and shown consistently high levels of examinations at IGCSE AS and A-level.
Commenting on the achievement, David Morrison, Principal of the Westminster School, said: "This is the result of the collective work of the school's faculty, staff and administration, and most importantly the students' efforts. I would like to congratulate them all for receiving this exceptional award and ensure our parent community that we will work on maintaining these high standards in the years to come."
The award will allow the Westminster School to choose a student from its centre planning to attend higher education to win a scholarship worth GBP1,000 per annum over three years. The Westminster School gets the opportunity to nominate any student(s) who has performed best in the November 2005/June 2006 Cambridge A Level or AS examinations. The school will have the right to use the newly acquired title in their Cambridge logo.
The Westminster School will also receive many benefits, such as Amazon vouchers of varying denominations to distribute to worthy students and certificates for students ranked in top positions at any O Level, IGCSE or A/AS Level subject.
