Expressing his delight with the accomplishment of the Bank's First Manager Financial Control Mr. Khalaf commented "I would like to congratulate Tawfiq for this commendable achievement that reflects his tremendous efforts to develop his personal performance, hence the overall performance of the Financial Control Department.".

"The award of this qualification is a reflection of his dedication to develop his knowledge and to acquire higher awards. So we are pleased to see that such results reflect the value of our investments in our human resources." he added.

It should be noted that Mr. Al Sari received the CIPA certificate, a qualification that is awarded for the first time throughout the world by the Accounting and Auditing Organisation for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI), which is an international non-profit organization seeking to develop accounting and auditing standards, guidelines and a code of conduct for the Islamic financial industry.

Attended by Mr. A.Hameed Alhammadi, BIsB Senior Manager Human Resources and Services, Mr. Al Sari said he was very grateful and proud of being received by the Bank's CEO and said: "Although my work requires close communication with the CEO whom I see frequently, yet this meeting has an exceptional nature."

"I would like to express my sincere thanks to the management led by the CEO Mr. Yousif Saleh Khalaf for the Bank's successful training policy that enabled me to receive this award through this investment in training." he added.

Obtaining this internationally recognized qualification is considered as a major academic achievement sought after by banking professionals let alone workers in Islamic auditing and accounting jobs. The CIPA certificate provides professional accountants involved or who plan to be involved in the Islamic financial industry with an esteemed professional qualification.

Studies for this qualification included a blend of theoretical concepts and practical applications comprising four parts covering the following aspects: Islamic financial system, financial reporting for Islamic financial operations, Islamic and Sharia'a laws and standards, accounting and auditing standards and guidelines and code of conduct for working in Islamic financial institutions.

It should be noted that AAOIFI was established in 1990 in the Kingdom of Bahrain as an international organization with the support of more than 120 member institutions that directly contribute to the international Islamic banking industry through the cultivation and marketing compliance with high quality professional standards and developing human resources with experience in the Islamic financial sector.

Bahrain Islamic Bank provides, in comparison with most banks and financial institutions in Bahrain, the strongest support to its staff members in their training programmes. Its employees who joined Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance (BIBF) represent the biggest contingent of trainees from various banks and financial institutions in Bahrain. Bahrainis represent a high level of 98% which is the highest percentage of Bahrainisation in Bahrain's financial and banking institutions.
