$140m light railway for Jordan

The Jordanian government is to float a tender on December 10 for the construction of a 28km light railway linking Amman with the industrial city of Zarqa, reported the Jordan Times. The project is designed to alleviate traffic congestion on the main highway between the two cities. The tender for the scheme, which could cost up to $140m, will be offered on a build, operate and transfer basis.
