RTA approves the operation of Abras on Route No. (2) Round-the-clock

H.E Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director of Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has approved the round-the clock working for Abras on Route No. 2, which links the Dubai Old Souk station with the Al Sabkha Station and vice versa.
Engineer Essa Al-Dossari, Chief Executive Officer of the Marine Agency said that the increase in the number of working hours for Abras comes within the framework of the RTA's eagerness to provide distinguished service to the public, and to meet the growing demand for Abras, until the late hours of the night. This line serves the vital areas frequented by large numbers of people around-the-clock.
He pointed out that the In-Land Water Transport Department however had executed a study to limit the number of Abra users on route no. (2) especially during the time period from 12:00am to 6:00am which involves off-peak hours.
