DCCI discusses trade and economic relations with Bangladesh

Abdul Rahman G. Al-Mutaiwee, Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry Director General, received a trade delegation of Board of Investment, Prime Minister's Office headed by Abu Reza Khan, Executive Member and his delegation.

The delegation included, Ariful Hoque, Deputy Director and Sheikh Afzal Hossain, Assistant Director. The meeting was attended by Muhamudr Rahman, Bangladesh's Commercial Counselor in Dubai.

Khan initiated the meeting with extending thanks and appreciation to Al-Mutaiwee for granting the opportunity to discuss the horizons of joint cooperation and ways of expanding and developing trade and economic relations between Bangladesh and UAE in general and Dubai in particular on all fronts.

"We do believe in the availability of huge investment opportunities in a number of economic and trade sectors, especially in hydro energy and gas sectors in Bangladesh, which abounds with plenty of expertise and skilled labor. We should also not pass mentioning the progression the textile and garments industries has attained in this country, which had become existent in most of the world's markets," said Al-Mutaiwee.

Khan evaluated the economic support his country is receiving from the UAE and widening the UAE investments in a variety of sectors that leads to create plenty of jobs for the Bengalis and bolsters bilateral economic and trade relations.

"We are strongly committed in benefiting from the leading experience of Dubai in all sectors of construction, investments and tourism, especially since Bangladesh enjoys breathtaking nature and diversified topography, which creates many investment opportunities, in addition to other vital sectors such as power energy generation and gas industry," he said.

Khan extended an invitation to Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry to visit Bangladesh and closely access the investment opportunities there.
