Since its foundation in 1917, Mayflex Ltd has evolved into a major player in the market and has partnerships with many leading manufacturers and suppliers, as well as having developed its own brand – the Excel range.
When fully functioning, the Middle East operation, based in Dubai’s Jebel Ali Free Zone, will offer a full range of cabling and networking products through a network of accredited installation partners. It is anticipated that up to 25 of these partners will be appointed in Dubai and Saudi Arabia during 2007.
Engineers and project managers from potential partners will be required to complete an on-line assessment, which will examine their experience and knowledge of structured cabling standards and installation practices. If a pass rate is achieved, they will become accredited, and will then need to apply for warranty covers for each installation by providing site-specific documentation, including test data.
In advance of the official opening of the Middle East business, Mayflex will be exhibiting at the forthcoming Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX), at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, from 18 to 22 November 2006 (Stand D1-30, Networking Hall).
A selection of items will be highlighted at GITEX, especially in the areas of structured cabling and cabinets. Many of the products will be available to the region’s cabling and networking reseller market for the first time, including the Excel range of copper and fibre optic cabling.
A feature of the Mayflex stand will be a visual “countdown” to the opening of the Dubai office in days, hours and minutes.
Mayflex already has partnership arrangements with companies such as: Fluke Networks; Brand-Rex; Cooper B-Line; CPI; Extreme; NetBotz; Sharpmark; Belden IBDN; Rose; CableNet Training; OWL; and LevelOne.
Large stocks of products will be held in Dubai, resulting, says the company, in faster delivery times to customers, in most cases just a few days.
