Organised in association with the University of Dubai and sponsored by Mashreq Bank, the unique initiative is designed for potential entrepreneurs. The programme's intensive curriculum will empower participants with the knowledge and skills to creatively evaluate their entrepreneurial ideas and convert them into viable business ventures.
Participants will be briefed on the importance of market surveys and preparing detailed business plans prior to launching a business proposition.
Akil Kazim, Operations Director of Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders said, 'In order to expose potential entrepreneurs to real time business situations, guest speakers including professional experts, entrepreneurs and business leaders will share their expertise and experiences, for participants to get a feel of what it takes to be an entrepreneur.'
The programme will consist of eight modules on the nature of entrepreneurship; development of business ideas; creating an effective business plan; ownership and legal issues; the importance of industry and market analysis, marketing, finance and sources of financing.
Professor M. Omar Hefni, President of the University of Dubai said, 'Participants will not only be exposed to the various components of a well defined business plan, including elements of strategic management, marketing, accounting and finance, but will also have to develop their own individual business plan which will be assessed and graded.'
The sessions have been conveniently timed for the benefit of working executives, and will be conducted twice a week from 6:00pm - 9:00 pm, at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry. It will include a series of lectures, interactive seminars and practical assignments.
Participants who wish to register for the programme should preferably have two years of work experience and ideally possess a bachelor's degree in any discipline. The programme is open to all UAE residents.
