A group of 30 UAE nationals are being trained in the various fields of aviation for the period of 90 days, after which, those who have successfully completed the program will join the staff & management team of the Department of Civil Aviation and Sharjah International Airport.

Since the aviation sector is an extensive industry, courses for various departments have been created and modified to suit the needs of UAE Nationals. The program is fully comprehensive and includes training for the various divisions of work at the Civil Aviation and Airport departments and the skills required to face the challenges in the fast developing travel industry.

At the start of the training program, an orientation is held to introduce trainees to all the departments of the DCA and Sharjah Airport Authority. This is done through a tour of the airport's departments to introduce members of its staff to the trainees in order to familiarize them with departmental procedures and facilities.

During the course of this three month program, the candidates are monitored regularly. Once the initiation training is completed, they are then placed in different departments where their interest and skills lie.

This is done to increase their motivation to learn and propels them to perform their best.

Dr. Ghanem Al Hajri, Director General Department of Civil Aviation & Sharjah Airport Authority stated,

"The process of Emiratisation will proceed successfully with UAE Nationals being given the proper preparation, training which will enhance their knowledge and skills and more importantly give them guidelines to enhance their career."

"The training program, designed by the Department of Civil Aviation & Sharjah Airport Authority, aims to provide trainees with a comprehensive and in-depth knowledge in the department of their choice in the aviation industry. We then select those individuals who show initiative to learn, ability to contribute and commitment to growing and learning. At Sharjah International Airport, we place strong emphasis on the value of human resources and are willing to equip staff and constantly provide them with training to keep up with the ever developing work environment," added Dr. Al Hajri.
