With all proceeds going towards the Breast Cancer Foundation of the Emirates, the mall is calling upon all members the public - men, women and children - to help support this very worthy cause, aimed at raising funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer.
For AED 50, participants can register as individuals or as a group (corporate) for the walk, which begins at 8.00 am at the mall. This donation entitles participants to a Safe and Sound T-shirt, a cap and a special pink walkathon charity band.
This year's Pink Walkathon kicks off with a performance by Dubai Drums and ends at BurJuman, where walkers can enjoy a 'Jazz Breakfast,' with live musicians, delicious food and a community atmosphere.
Later that evening, the Children's Choir will perform a special show in the Mall Observatory.
Proceeds from the walk will be used by the foundation to fund awareness and education programmes, community outreach initiatives, breast screening and treatment services, support services for patients, the Breast Cancer Registry Project, and the Foundation's research project.
The BurJuman Breast Cancer Awareness campaign, which is being run in conjunction with Welcare Hospital, is now in its ninth year and is supported by KODAK, ENOC/EPPCO, the Ministry of Social Affairs, TECOM (Dubai Technology, Electronic Commerce and Media Free Zone), Hertz and GEMS (Global Education Management Systems).
