Organized by Dubai Ladies Club, in association with Dubai Press Club, the event was attended by Mona Al Marri, Chairperson of Dubai Press Club and Vice President of Dubai Ladies Club. Over 100 women journalists from the print and broadcast media and UAE-based news agencies participated in the event that marked the holy month of Ramadan.

Addressing the gathering, H. H. Sheikha Manal said: "The women media gathering is an annual initiative by Dubai Ladies Club to build closer ties with the media fraternity.

"The media plays a crucial role in shaping our society, and I am happy to see the industry being represented by a large section of women. I am equally delighted to see a significant presence of Emarati women, who have established their presence in this field by virtue of their talent and the support of the government, the society and their families."

H. H. Sheikha Manal credited the women journalists for effectively balancing their roles as home maker and media professionals.

"I applaud your courage and determination to take on meaningful roles in the society that impact and shape the opinions of the public. I am sure you will inspire many of the younger generation to emulate your contribution to the development of our nation."

Since its launch in 2003, Dubai Ladies Club has consistently worked towards improving the quality of life of national and expatriate women through in-house events, facilities and pilot projects.

Apart from the Complete Woman Programme, Dubai Ladies Club recently announced a Corporate Childcare Centre Project for establishing childcare centres at workplaces to promote the efficiency and productivity of working mothers. It also launched an IT literacy programme earlier this year to upgrade the computer skills of women.
