'Topping the Total Value charts came as a big award for Nissan as it is a survey based on buyers' perceptions and encompasses the complete ownership experience. The result is a reflection of our strong brand reputation and satisfied customer index,' said a spokesperson form Suhail Bahwan Automobiles.

The Total Value Awards reflects that the true value of any car is much more than the most economical deal. Reliability, a solid warranty, strong anticipated resale value, durability, and innovation are all part of the definition of 'total value.' Innovation and the level of standard equipment helped nudge the Nissan products ahead in each tightly contested segment. The Nissan Armada scored a whopping 724 in the large SUV segment.

'Building Total Value reinforces the notion of a 'smart buy.' Even in a mature market where consumers have a variety of excellent choices, yet concern for fuel economy and getting the most for their money, Total Value influences the purchase,' concluded Alexander Edwards, President of Strategic Vision, Automotive Group.

The Total Value Study surveyed over 64,000 new vehicle buyers who purchased their vehicles between October 2005 and March 2006, asking an extensive array of questions about their first 90 days of ownership. Strategic Vision is a research-based consultancy with more than thirty years of experience in understanding consumer and constituent decision-making systems for a variety of clients, including most Automotive Manufacturers, Coca-Cola, and Procter & Gamble. Its unique expertise is in identifying consumers' motivational hierarchies, including the values and emotions that drive perceptions and behaviors.

The calculation of Total Value clearly incorporates explicit statements that owners make about the value of the product. The index for each category is calculated by incorporating the importance of the variables that make up the ownership experience and the economic factors which impact the perception of value.

The giant 4WD from Nissan truly outlives the acclaim not only in its size but also in the king-size way in which it rules the roads. The Armada was launched in Oman last year and since then it has its place 'in a big way'. The Armada was introduced as the first Japanese entrant in the full-size SUV segment. It's characteristic 5.6 litre V8 power, flagship refinement and particularly large seating arrangements, makes it a favourite for those who love their space. Foldable seats also allow the Armada to be used for cargo and a convenient flat floor further maximizes cargo space. No matter the load, the Armada still delivers a whopping 340 hp at 4,900 rpm and an equally muscular torque rating of 57.1 kg-m at 3,600 rpm. Transmission is five-speed automatic and comes in two grades with the option of 2WD and 4WD.

With the most number of choices, best performance and largest volumes of sales, Nissan is certainly the leader when it comes to SUV market in the entire Middle East. Nissan offers five fiery SUVs in this segment, each reaching out to various segments of the society and all age groups. The power-packed range includes the award-winning, larger than life Armada, the all new Pathfinder, the head turner Murano, the ever-exciting X-trail and the flagship model 'King of All Terrain' NISSAN Patrol.
