RTA awards Jumeira Road - Port area beautification project

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) board of directors headed by H.E Mattar Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board and Executive Director, awarded the Jumeira Road beautification project in the Port area, which is estimated to have a total value of AED 120 million.
Eng Maitha Bin Adai, CEO, Traffic and Roads Agency, RTA said, "The entity had awarded the project to a national company which submitted the best offer amongst four other companies that participated in the tender."
She said that the project is an up gradation of the Jumeira Road beautification project, which was completed recently. The project includes some improvements to the port street, as well as the intersections around the areas of Port road, Al Diyafa and Al Wasl. Other enhancements include beautification of the area, utility improvements that comprise of irrigation and drainage and installation of new traffic signs.
She added, "The beautification project comes within the framework of the RTA as it aims to improve and beautify all main roads in Dubai. The project includes the construction of walkways for pedestrians made of natural granite stones paving and special paths for bicycles with red asphalt which can be distinguished from the remaining roadways and enhance the safety of bicycle users. As a part of the beautification process for this project, water fountains will be constructed at some intersections."
