- PRESS RELEASE
Batelco's newest high speed internet package has generated a huge response from residents of Bahrain.
As part of the pre-registration commitment, Batelco started the roll out of the packages to customers on 10th October and Batelco engineers are now working around the clock to process new customers' orders as soon as possible. Customers will receive an SMS notification on their mobiles once their new service is activated. All customers should be in the process of buying the necessary ADSL modems and filters to be ready for service activation.
The great value for money package offers unlimited usage at a download speed of 256 kbit/s for the first 2GB and 64 kbit/s for usage in excess of 2GB with no extra charges. This plan satisfies the requirement of light users who don't need to download large video and music files and is ideal for high speed internet browsing and emailing. The package is recommended for first time users and those seeking value for money.
Broadband doesn't tie up your phone line, as dial up does, so there is no need for the installation of an additional line. Callers can always get through and users can make phone calls out, while surfing the net at the same time. Increased speed is also a major asset, with downloads being at least 400% faster than with a standard telephone and modem connection.
"We anticipated an enthusiastic response to our Broadband package but the take up has exceeded our expectations with thousands of keen customers rushing to pre-register," said Batelco Corporate Affairs General Manager Ahmed Al Janahi.
"Batelco has shown again that it is a market leader not just in the Kingdom but across the GCC," he added.
Batelco is committed to satisfying the needs of the Kingdom's internet users and plans are in place to enhance the Company's range of Broadband packages. Customers can expect to hear good news on this front very soon.
