The company to showcase its 103 inch plasma display, Blu-ray high definition home cinema and the LUMIX DMC-L1 digital camera for the first time in the Middle East.

'High definition has been heralded as the biggest thing to happen to television since colour, and Panasonic has capitalised on this development by going a step further and launching end-to-end high definition solutions beginning with HD content creation using HD broadcasting equipment and extending to home viewing, recording, editing and storage, using HD plasma display and home theatre system,' said Yasuo Kimoto, Product Manager, Panasonic.

The world's largest 103 inch plasma display that Panasonic will be showcasing at GITEX Dubai is full HD and offers crisp 1920 x 1080 resolution (1080 progressive) for unsurpassed clarity and detail. It offers superior characteristics on several measures including dynamic contrast, accurate color reproduction, quick response time for sports and programs with fast-moving images and a wider viewing angle.

At GITEX 2006, Panasonic will be displaying its Blu-ray Home Theatre System that combines high quality audio and visuals with aesthetic designs to deliver the ultimate home cinema experience. The VIERA-link that integrates all these components to a single controller lets you turn on and begin playback by pressing a single button on the remote control.

'Together with advanced products developed with the latest HD technologies, Panasonic will present its ideas for high-quality, comfortable lifestyles with various consumer electronics products linked together, including the VIERA flat-panel display TVs, LUMIX digital still cameras and a wide range of SD devices,' added Kimoto.

At GITEX, Panasonic will also be launching its next-generation LUMIX DMC-L1 - the first digital SLR camera with interchangeable LEICA D VARIO-ELMARIT lens. The DMC-L1 is a revolutionary new digital SLR camera, operated much like a traditional film camera but providing a variety of innovative features.

Panasonic will occupy stand number F 3-1 in Hall 3 during GITEX Dubai 2006.
