Emirates Bank General Manager- Retail Banking, Mr. Louis Scotto said, 'We at Emirates Bank continuously support and assist organizations as well as individuals in need throughout the year, but Ramadan brings with it an emphasized desire to help. We believe that sponsoring a club like the Al Ain Club For the Disabled symbolizes hope- hope for the human spirit, which is the real wealth and most important factor in the country's growth process. We have actively supported sporting events around the country, but never one that needs our support and encouragement, like this one.'

The Al Ain Club for the Disabled currently has more than 400 male and female members, with physical, mental, hearing, sight disablement and other related problems. The club participates in almost all sport, cultural and social activities of the Special Needs Community. The sporting events are held all over the UAE, and are under the UAE Sport Association for the Disabled umbrella. The Al Ain Club for the Disabled has won numerous medals and high honors for its sporting accomplishments.

H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince, and Deputy of the Higher Commander of the UAE Armed Forces blessed the club with newly built sports facilities- aimed at resurrecting hope and ambition within the members, and urging them to make a greater sporting effort overall. The results were astonishingly fruitful, when the club gained 24 medals at the GCC Strength Sports Championship held early this year in Dubai. The club reaped the largest share of the medals at the event, and this record haul is the highest since the inception of the club 10 years ago.

The club is currently looking forward to establishing a special section for ladies of all types of disabilities in order to fulfill the hopes of the disabled in the city of Al Ain.
