226,000 Service requests processed by Public Transport last month

The latest statistics of the Public Transport Agency at Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) reflected that the number of passengers using Dubai Taxis reached 222,908 passengers during September, 111,454 trips with an increment of 2.2 % from August.
He added that the Reservation and Distribution Section in the Agency received 226,876 phone calls during the month of September comparing with 206,352 calls in August, and the total number of taxi reservations made had amounted to 139,873, comparing with 121,217 reservations in August out of which 44,818 reservations were made via the IVR system compared with 38,603 reservations in August.
"The Corporation has successfully managed to reduce the waiting time of the taxis to 12 minutes, while on an average of 15 seconds was recorded to reply to incoming calls."
Mr. Bin Tamim said that Al Sufooh Area - Zone # 53, which is distinguished with the extensive residential presence in compounds has topped the list of areas with the highest requests for taxis in August with 34,778 reservations made, followed by Al Garhoud area (#22) that witnessed 18,764 reservations. The Mirdif Area witnessed 11,415 reservations, while the Umm Suqaim Area (#1, #2) witnessed 8,797 reservations and in Al Tawar Area (# 1,2 and 3) 7,875 reservations were made.
The number of reservations in Al Barsha area (#52) were 7,606 reservations, while Jebel Ali area received 6,340 reservations and Al Qusais area (# 1,2 and 3) which is distinguished with the extensive residential presence recorded 5,419 reservations. Al Safa area (#1,2 and3) reported to have made 5,419 reservations and Umm Suqaim Area (#2 and 3) made 5,636 reservations.
