Fruitful focus group meeting on "Productivity" levers on private sector development at the BCCI

The Labour Fund- Economic Development Board, in cooperation with the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry held a Focus Group interactive meeting at the Chamber.

Held with an interest group consisting of owners of small and medium sized Bahraini enterprises (SMEs), a number of consultancy firms specialized in productivity improvement, some decision makers, and several other personalities concerned with the Kingdom's economy.

The meeting was held to inform participants of the major obstacles that impeded productivity improvement in Bahrain during the previous period. These obstacles were identified during the pilot phase and needed to be validated with the private sector..

The meeting was attended by Dr. Issam Fakhro, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Ibrahim Zaynal, First Deputy Chairman, BCCI, Dr. Nizar Baharna, Second Deputy Chairman, BCCI as well as a number of officials at the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Mr. Abdel Ellah Al-Qassimi, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Labour Market Reform Project at the Economic Development Board, Mr. Ali Radhi, Vice-President, Business Sector Support, Labour Fund, EDB and a large number of interested company owners attended the meeting.
